My Tiny Backyard

Updated: Jan 23, 2020

I haven't always been a fan of succulents. It's only over the last 5 years that I have come to appreciate the amazing textures and colours that make them what they are. And of course they are super easy care! (though not if you are in a frosty part of the country). Succulents grow very well in the Bay of Plenty, and are always my 'go to plant' when I need to plant up a pot or garden in a dry spot. My personal favourite succulents are string of pearls and sedum autumn joy, which in the spring time is a tidy clump of leaves, in the summer the flowers go from green, to rose pink, to burgandy then brown. And the bees go absolutely nuts over the flowers.

A friend of mine, Joanna Moran, who is also a passionate plant person, is the owner of My Tiny Backyard in Tauranga. She searches near and far for unique succulents to propogate and add to her collection. Floral & Old is very lucky to include My Tiny Backyard succulents in their range of plants, and I always look forward to seeing what new varieties Joanna has discovered in her searches.
